THE BLUEE FLOOD!!!

The flood alert is serious in Thailand. The entire Nonthatburi and Pathum Thani is flooded and there are many districts that are at high risk including Min Buri. Luckily, my family lives in the main city at Bangkok, in Sukhumvit soi 23. About two weeks ago, my uncles home at Pathum Thani got washed away and his family came to live with us. They came to live with us for about a week and then they left to India. Due to this tragedy all over Thailand, my family donated money and I helped pack the basic food(mushroom, carton milk, bagels of rice, dry fruits, plastic bags, tissue, mama noodles) and water for the villagers in Lam Lukka.  Later, I also helped load the military truck so they can send the supply to all these people. Many people are feeling unsafe and in the market many of the basic foods are getting finished easily. There are many miserable stories about the flood victims. In the beginning my family stored a lot of the food and about nine liters of water. Finally, my family decided to go to India to stay safe and celebrate Diwali. After I came back to Bangkok, I helped pack for the flood victims who live in the villages. There were over 56 people to help pack for 500 people. I hope that my efforts have helped.

EVERYBODY'S DIFFERNENT: sit back and enjoy. accept differences of other peoples ideas. It's good to know.

HERE ARE MY IDEAS ABOUT READING!
My name is Manasi and today I am in grade eight learning with Ms. Torie in her social studies and language arts class.I am here to talk about how people think differently about their comprehending and what reading strategies they use. The two main strategies I use are visualization and connection. Others may use other ideas and so the idea is that we should all understand that we can learn from one another.  I have a wide range of ideas in my head about connection and visualization. Most of the time I can connect my life through what I read. Here, are some basic strategies that people use to connect their reading to their life.
Most people enjoy connecting, text to text and text to self. According to me, it is fun connecting text to text because there are times where authors have derived their ideas from the same place. But, I like to connect as much as possible.
While I read I connect through everything that motivates me to do in my life. After spotting text that you remember, I start comparing and contrasting the connection with my self. How is it different and similar. Also, it gives you a better understanding of what you are currently learning.

Secondly, I visualize while I read. Most of the time I get a movie in my head while reading a novel. It is cool!!! But I don't like it when I have visualized something and then I watch the books movie. It destroys my imagination and therefore I don't like it. For example, the book twilight, had come out and when I went to watch the movie, somethings were different things that I had visualized. Also, sometimes the author doesn't give a lot of description about the persons physical characteristics.
Last year, we read a story and I had pictured that the boy was about eight year old due to his immaturity when he started talking about pirate stories. But, when we watched the movie, the boy was about 13 years old.

This relates to my identity because visualization and connection are the strategies that I use the most. Secondly, I try to remember what I have learned from the past in order for me to relate to the context well.
